One of the unique selling points of this amazing coffee maker machine (amazing, because you don’t come across such wonderful pieces frequently) is that it is powered up by Centrifusion™ technology. This unique feature enables the machine to brew both espresso and coffee on the go – with the single touch of a button.
What’s more, the machine comes with twelve different Nespresso Grands Crus capsules. Out of these 12, four are espresso while the remaining eight are for brewing a single serve cup of coffee. The coffee capsules range from bold to mild, and also include hazelnut and vanilla flavored coffees. If you’ve never had the chance to taste one of the coffees from an Evoluo or another Nespresso machine, you’ll be happy with the results.
The VertuoLine Centrifusion™ technology is different from Original Line Nespresso machines. For starters, Original Line machines made use of 19 bar pressure to extract the coffee. Adopting a bit different route, VertuoLine Centrifusion™ technology works by spinning the capsule to extract the coffee flavor. In our testing, this extraction process works really well.
Another great feature that caught our attention is the quick heating time. This Nespresso unit can attain the desired temperature within 15 – 20 seconds, regardless of the size of your coffee cup. This ensures that you don’t have to wait for a long time to brew your coffee.
And no, the Evoluo is not tough to use. In fact, it is one of the simplest coffee machines that we have come across. The use of the latest technologies has only added to its convenience and versatility. To prepare your coffee, all you need to do is set the cup support in line with the size of your coffee cup, and press the button on top to activate the machine.
As soon as the indicator button starts glowing, open the machine, and insert one of the Nespresso Evoluo pads into the capsule container. Next, close the machine and lock it properly. Relax and press the button – you will have piping hot coffee ready almost instantly. While the cup of espresso will take about 20 seconds, you will have to wait for 40 seconds to have a cup of coffee.
With only one button, this begs the obvious question. How will this Nespresso Evoluo machine know if you want an espresso or coffee? Don’t worry, the built-in barcode reader takes care of it for you. As soon as you preheat the machine, and lock the lever in place, the barcode scanner determines what kind of coffee you are making depending on the capsule inserted. Didn’t we say that this is one of the most easy-to-use machines that we have come across so far?
Want to see other Nespresso options?
As we discussed above, Nespresso Evoluo makes use of Centrifusion™ technology which spins the Nespresso capsules. As Evoluo doesn’t allow you to use any other pods apart from the Nespresso capsules, the taste is definitely of high quality. You can count on a rich flavor, and the crema that this coffee machine produces looks awesome too.
But on the downside, although the crema looks tasty, it is not exactly a true crema. It is thin and too foamy and lacks the right texture.
As far as the quality of the resulting coffee is concerned, although it tastes great, it is not the same quality as your would get from one of many espresso-only machines available on the market today. Keeping in mind that the machine solves both the purposes single handily, we believe the taste quality is definitely above average and you will not be disappointed.
Cleaning and Maintenance
The Nespresso Evoluo machine scores really well in terms of cleaning and maintenance. Because there aren’t a lot of moving parts, there aren’t very many short-term cleaning requirements for the unit. All you need to do is empty the bin where the spent capsules are collected periodically.
As for water and the water tank, the coffee machine comes with a specific descaling process that you will need to follow. Although the entire process is easy to accomplish, it can be time-consuming. On average, it will take you around 30 minutes from start to finish. We definitely recommend a regular cadence of descaling the water tank to preserve the life of your Evoluo and to improve the taste of your coffee or espresso.
Capacity: Water tank has a capacity of 54 oz.
Materials: High-quality plastic
Dimensions: 9.0 W” by 12.2 D” by 12.3 H”
Weight: 11 pounds

Wrapping Up Our Review
All in all, this Nespresso Vertuo Evoluo is what every coffee lover is looking for. Its ability to provide you with both coffee and espresso is what makes it unique.
